Our HISTORY
Since being founded in 2002 by H. Jay Enck and Christine Miley, CxGBS® have been leaders and innovators in sustainability and energy efficiency efforts for the built environment. At inception, our firm went to work on fulfilling our Mission and, using our well-executed commissioning process, quickly earned a reputation for being a tenacious advocate for building owners and a premier commissioning authority (sometimes mistakenly called commissioning agent) and commissioning provider.
From the start, CxGBS® also took a leading role in driving the success of owners’ sustainability goals. We developed our comprehensive Green Housekeeping and Site Management program, the first in the southeast to meet LEED requirements. CxGBS® went on to drive many other sustainability firsts such as guiding the project team for the Arthur M. Blank Family Office in claiming the title of First LEED Gold Certified Office Building in the Southeast, the team for the Homewood Middle School in claiming the title of First LEED Certified School in Alabama, the team for the Balzer Theater in claiming the title of First LEED Certified Theater in the US, and others. CxGBS has secured their place as a premier provider of guidance on achieving LEED certification.
