CxGBS® assists long term building owners by increasing their bottom line through operational efficiency.
Commissioning & Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS®) is a Professional Consultancy Firm assisting building owners, stakeholders, developers, architects, engineers, and construction managers in the process of designing, creating and operating sustainable and energy efficient buildings, structures and environments.
CxGBS® is comprised of a highly-skilled staff including Professional Engineers, Project Managers, LEED Accredited Professionals, and Certified Commissioning Authorities who are dedicated to delivering the owners' requirements and providing sustainability services of the highest quality and value to our clients.
Our MISSION
CxGBS®’ mission is to enhance the delivery of sustainable, healthy high performance buildings from project concept through the useful service life of a building with the larger goal of reducing economic, social, and environmental impact. We strive to lower our client’s total cost of ownership, improve occupant conditions, provide for optimum system performance and help to make a better living environment for current and future generations.
Our PHILOSOPHY
First and foremost, we are the building owner’s advocate. We raise the bar for quality and demand accountability from each project’s design, construction and operations team. CxGBS® meets our mission by taking a holistic approach (Holistic Commissioning®): we use our experience and technical knowledge to improve the complex interaction between building systems during the concept, design, construction, and operation phases of the building. Commissioning is the only continuous thread through all of these phases, allowing us to truly serve the life of your building. Our realistic, professional, consulting teams are tailored to our client needs providing a holistic approach to advance the quality and performance of buildings through the practical application of sustainable development principles.
Our HISTORY
Since being founded in 2002 by H. Jay Enck and Christine Miley, CxGBS® have been leaders and innovators in sustainability and energy efficiency efforts for the built environment. At inception, our firm went to work on fulfilling our Mission and, using our well-executed commissioning process, quickly earned a reputation for being a tenacious advocate for building owners and a premier commissioning authority (sometimes mistakenly called commissioning agent) and commissioning provider.
From the start, CxGBS® also took a leading role in driving the success of owners’ sustainability goals. We developed our comprehensive Green Housekeeping and Site Management program, the first in the southeast to meet LEED requirements. CxGBS® went on to drive many other sustainability firsts such as guiding the project team for the Arthur M. Blank Family Office in claiming the title of First LEED Gold Certified Office Building in the Southeast, the team for the Homewood Middle School in claiming the title of First LEED Certified School in Alabama, the team for the Balzer Theater in claiming the title of First LEED Certified Theater in the US, and others. CxGBS has secured their place as a premier provider of guidance on achieving LEED certification.
