Harold D Donohue.jpgCxGBS, as part of an IDIQ team (GS00P-05-0115), provided GSA with retro-commissioning of the Harold D. Donohue Federal Building which serves the U.S. District court in Worcester, Massachusetts. Originally opened in 1932, the building has served the people of Worcester for over 75 years. It underwent its last major renovation in 1995.

After Retro-Commissioning and recommendations by CxGBS®, the building's energy consumption was reduced by 46%.

Sustainable Design Features:

  • 40 percent reduction of water use within the building
  • 35 percent reduction of lighting power in addition to proper use of daylight sensors and motion sensors
  • 90 percent of equipment is Energy Star rated
  • 50 percent of materials used in the project were manufactured within 500 miles
  • Low emitting (low VOC content) adhesive, paints and carpets were used
