Project Overview:

p-claiborne.jpgThe Claiborne and LaSalle Buildings are new facilities located among historic buildings in a 250-acre downtown Baton Rouge campus known as Capitol Park.

Design phase commissioning of structural, electrical, mechanical and building envelope systems identified 102 fatal flaws, 54 installation critical issues, 217 quality control issues and 31 value engineering opportunities that resulted in initial cost savings to the state of $3 million.

Additional work completed by designers as a result of the design phase commissioning produced a significantly better set of construction documents. These efforts saved the state more than $7 million in direct construction costs.

Sustainable Design Features:

  • Lower total cost of ownership through reduced maintenance and operation costs resulting from design phase commissioning
