The Oak Ridge High School project was a great success, achieving LEED Silver certification, an indicator that they are a leader in energy efficiency and environmental design and that they have a concern about the ever changing environment.

The school was also recognized for their leadership in design with a Citation of Excellence Award from Learning by Design, a publication of the American School Board Journal. The school was a 2009 recipient honored at the American Association of School Administrators annual conference.

Dr. Tom Bailey, Superintendent of Schools, was pleased with the project's success remarking, "These spaces have been designed for learning." The renovation and addition were continuously occupied during construction.
