H. Jay Enck to Speak at ASHRAE Atlanta Chapter Meeting
Duluth, Georgia, (March 29, 2011) — Commissioning & Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS®) announced today that its Principal, H. Jay Enck, CxAP, HBDP, CPMP will be a speaker at the April Chapter meeting of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Atlanta Chapter Meeting. Enck is part of a three-person panel presenting "Why Commissioning is Here to Stay." He will be joined by Stephen R. Wiggins, and John K. McFarland, PE, CCP, CEM, LEED AP.
Enck, Wiggins and McFarland are recognized by leaders in Atlanta's building community as some of the early champions of the commissioning process in Georgia. With more than 50 combined years commissioning experience, their efforts in Atlanta and across the southeast have increased the awareness of commissioning in the building and remodeling industry and have helped to provide more efficient living experiences for thousands of building owners, property managers and their tenants.
"With the increased focus on environmentally-sensitive construction in both public and private sectors, we're going to continue to see architects and owners include commissioning among their many requirements," explains Enck. "This is important information for professionals throughout the industry to keep in mind when working on their next project."
The ASHRAE meeting and lunch will be held April 12, 2011, at its headquarters where they will host the roundtable luncheon seminar. ASHRAE headquarters is located at 1791 Tullie Circle in Atlanta. H. Jay Enck, CxAP, HBDP, CPMP- In addition to being founder and principal, of Commissioning and Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), H. Jay Enck is an innovative leader in building commissioning, operational efficiency, building forensics, green design and sustainable development. Enck has more than 30 years experience in engineering, construction, and building operations. His forte is providing lessons learned to reduce owner risk and team effort, as well as providing a Holistic Commissioning™ that starts in pre-design and carries through the lifespan of the building.
Stephen R. Wiggins is an Associate Partner with Newcomb & Boyd, an Atlanta based consulting firm. His work with the firm involves commissioning, retrocommissioning, and training activities for institutional, commercial, government and industrial projects. He has spoken internationally on the subject of commissioning, and has presented on sustainability and commissioning to Greenprints, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors' Association of Australia, GovEnergy, the National Conference on Building Commissioning, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
John K. McFarland, PE, CCP, CEM, LEED-AP, USGBC Faculty is the Director of Operations at WorkingBuildings, a building commissioning and sustainability consulting firm. WorkingBuildings focuses on high performance buildings, including hospitals, laboratories, educational, and medical research facilities. John has over 18 years of experience designing, constructing and commissioning building systems. John has been actively involved in the LEED rating systems since 2001 when he served as the LEED consultant and commissioning authority on The Southern Pines Conference Center that earned a certified rating. Since then, he has served as the LEED® consultant and commissioning authority on over 80 projects, including the Kaiser Permanente Gwinnett Campus, Johnson City Medical Center and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
