Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with a satellite office in Jackson, Mississippi, CxGBS offers a comprehensive suite of services to provide high value solutions for better performing buildings. Services include Sustainable Design Consulting, Holistic Commissioning™, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Certification and Forensic Investigation.
The company has provided services for a wide variety of building types, including educational facilities, office buildings, laboratories, municipal buildings, courthouses, hospitality facilities, sports complexes and convention centers.
With its knowledge and experience in building operations CxGBS has pioneered Green Operations™, a set of policies and procedures that carry sustainable design principles and LEED certification practices beyond design and construction into the continuing operation of the building.
The company’s Holistic Commissioning™ approach, a set of proprietary modeling techniques for design and building commissioning, maximize performance and reduce costs, helps address areas of concern in the earliest stages of the project, and reduces the risk of failure that can sometimes be designed into buildings. Both of these processes set the stage for efficient, healthy, high performance buildings.
The firm’s founder and principal, H. Jay Enck, has provided technical services to the U.S. Green Building Council for its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating Systems™, and helped develop the new LEED Accreditation Professional Exam and New Construction Reference Guide.
Corporate History
CxGBS was founded in 2002 by H. Jay Enck, a leader and innovator in green design and sustainable development. His interest in sustainable development began in college, when he designed and built an industrial heat recovery system that saved two million cubic feet of gas per year. This early interest became his specialty – providing guidance to owners and project teams as they work to integrate sustainable development principles into their projects. Enck is a respected industry veteran, with more than 25 years’ experience in engineering and construction positions at major U.S. firms.
Since its inception, CxGBS has been a leader in commissioning and sustainable development in Georgia and the Southeast. CxGBS led sustainability efforts on the Arthur M. Blank Family Office, the first LEED Gold certified office building in the Southeast and has provided commissioning for over 10% of all LEED certified projects in the state of Georgia.
