CxGBS Announces New Commissioning and LEED® Certification Clients in the Southeast
ATLANTA (April 18, 2007) — Commissioning and Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), an Atlanta-based commissioning and green building consulting firm, has added three new clients, including the Mississippi State Department of Public Services in Biloxi, Miss.; the Jefferson County Bessemer Courthouse Complex in Birmingham, Ala., and Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga.
The firm is providing Holistic Commissioning™ for a new Public Service Campus for the Mississippi State Department of Public Services to replace facilities lost to Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Miss. The $17.2 million campus is comprised of three buildings housing the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Narcotics, the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Drivers’ License Division and the Mississippi Crime Lab.
CxGBS is also providing sustainable development consulting and Holistic Commissioning for a 135,000-square-foot expansion of the Jefferson County Bessemer Courthouse Complex to include courtrooms, holding cells, judges’ chambers, administrative offices and service areas.
The firm is providing sustainable design consulting and LEED consulting for a new student housing and dining hall at Atlanta’s Spelman College. The facility will incorporate green design attributes to enhance student learning and reduce environmental impacts.
“Our Holistic Commissioning approach helps address areas of concern in the earliest stages of projects, reducing the risk of failure that can sometimes be designed into buildings,” said H.J. Enck, principal of CxGBS. “We will provide guidance to the project teams to explore solutions that will lower the cost of ownership and create healthy conditions for occupants.
