CxGBS Wins New Commissioning Projects in Metro Atlanta
ATLANTA (January 18, 2007) — Commissioning & Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), an Atlanta-based commissioning and green building consulting firm, has added four new clients in metropolitan Atlanta, including The American Society of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); Maharam, Cherokee County, and the city of Suwanee.
CxGBS will serve as commissioning authority for the renovation of ASHRAE’s current Atlanta headquarters as a sustainable building. The new headquarters will function as a “living lab” where ASHRAE technical committees can conduct research projects to determine the effectiveness of procedures designed to conserve energy, prolong the efficient operation of mechanical systems and improve indoor air quality.
Maharam, a century old to-the-trade textile manufacturer, has selected CxGBS to provide Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Commercial Interior (LEED®-CI) consulting services and Holistic Commissioning™ for its 6,000-square-foot Atlanta showroom. Holistic Commissioning is the proprietary process CxGBS employs to ensure that owners receive a building that meets project requirements as well as provides good long-term value through energy savings and environmentally friendly design.
CxGBS is providing Holistic Commissioning and LEED consulting for an $18 million 50,000-square-foot Cherokee Country Administration Building and a 20,000-square-foot Conference Center in Canton, Ga., to serve the County Board of Commissioners and the administrative office needs of various county departments.
The firm is providing sustainable design consulting and serving as LEED Certification facilitator for Suwanee City Hall, a new three-story 20,000-square-foot facility which will house the City Council Chamber and administrative office for the city of Suwanee.
“Our Holistic Commissioning approach helps address areas of concern in the earliest stages of projects, reducing the risk of failure that can sometimes be designed into buildings,” said H.J. Enck, principal of CxGBS. “We will provide solutions for these new clients that will lower the cost of ownership and create healthy conditions for occupants.”
