H. J. Enck to Present PECI Webinar on Commissioning Process
ATLANTA, GA., (September 17, 2007) — H. J. Enck, LEED AP, CxAP, principal and founder of Atlanta-based Commissioning & Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), will present a webinar on the commissioning process in new construction, tenant build out and shell projects which are pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification. The webinar, October 24 from 12:00 -1:30 p.m. PST, is an online training event sponsored by Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI), a conservation group that promotes the benefits of responsible energy.
The course, worth 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will focus on the commissioning process for LEED-NC, CI and CS (new construction, major renovation, commercial interiors, core and shell) projects. Learning objectives are to use commissioning to minimize the cost of LEED, to review the minimum LEED requirements and the type of credits needed to achieve certification, and to explore the role of commissioning in a LEED project.
Jay Enck is an innovator in green design and sustainable development. With more than 28 years of experience in sustainable development, engineering, construction and equipment services and maintenance, he has executed the commissioning process for more than $1 billion worth of construction projects. His interest in green design, which began during his college years, has become his specialty – providing guidance to owners and their design teams in delivering sustainable, high-performance buildings.
He is a founding board member of the Atlanta Regional Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and served on the Board of the Southeast Regional Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association (BCA). He is also a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). His committee work is focused on developing new standards and guidelines for building envelope commissioning as well as green and sustainable design.
He founded CxGBS in 2002.
