FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CxGBS WINS NEW COMMISSIONING PROJECTS IN THE SOUTHEAST

Atlanta, GA. (July 22, 2008) — Commissioning and Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), an Atlanta-based commissioning and green building consulting firm, has added four new commissioning projects in the Southeast including Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, Ga.; Darlington Middle School in Rome, Ga.; Tichenor Hall at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.; and The Birmingham Federal Reserve and Tower.

CxGBS will provide design and construction phase Holistic Commissioning™ for renovation of an existing 12,000 square-foot building at Sandy Creek Nature Center, a 225-acre nature preserve that is home to a diverse group of animals, plants and ecosystems. The building will house a public education area, reference library and document archives, staging area for off-site activities, and meeting and conference facilities.

The firm will provide sustainable design consulting; whole building design, construction and warranty phase commissioning; and Leadership in Environmental Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification for a new 65,000-square foot building on the existing campus at Darlington Middle School in Rome, GA.

At Auburn University, CxGBS will provide construction phase commissioning for replacement of mechanical systems in Tichenor Hall, an educational building.

CxGBS will provide Holistic Commissioning for the Birmingham Federal Reserve and Tower, a $145 million sustainable mixed-use development featuring a 265-room four-star hotel, 186,000 square feet of Class A office space, an executive conference center, restaurants and bars, retail and a first-class spa. The facility will include both the historic restoration of a 1926 federal reserve building and new construction, with the benefits of both contributing to its character.

“Our Holistic Commissioning approach integrates sustainability while making sure that the owner’s expectations for the facility are met,” said H. Jay Enck, LEED AP, CxAP, founder and CEO of CxGBS. “It includes the building envelope and mechanical and electrical systems which affect greenhouse gases and indoor environmental quality. Our process starts in the pre-design phase and follows through with design/construction and post-occupancy. It is a continuous process that goes through the entire life of the building, lowering the project risk and cost.”
